Tips for excursions

What's going on?

1st breakfast with harbor view

Start relaxed at the Landungsbrücken: Get a Franzbrötchen to go and cruise over to Övelgönne on ferry 62. The ride only costs an HVV ticket, but feels like a mini-cruise. Fresh wind, panoramic views of the Elbe, the sound of seagulls – there are hardly any better vibes.

2. street art & stories

Back in St. Pauli, it’s off to Beatles-Platz (a quick selfie, of course) and then on through the side streets: Forays through Hafenstraße and Park Fiction deliver colorful murals, resistance history and a great view of the Dockland building. Perfect for your Insta feed – #StPauliLove.

3. cult neighborhood culture

Check out the St. Pauli Museum for a crash course in Kiez legends from boxers to girls. If you’re into wax, check out the Panoptikum – Germany’s oldest waxwork kabuff, wildly underrated.

4th foodie fix at the edge of the harbor

At lunchtime, head for the St. Pauli fish market (on Sundays from 5 a.m. – yes, really early!). During the day, grab a fish taco at Salt & Silver or a vegan currywurst at Frau Dr. Schmitt. Maritime doesn’t always have to be just matjes, right?

5. sundowner over the rooftops

For golden hour up in the clouds – Heaven’s Bar & Kitchen in the Dancing Towers. Skyline, Elbe, sunset – goosebumps. If you like it rough: rooftop terrace Skyline Bar 20up in the Empire Riverside Hotel is also rocking.

6. nightlife: From live music to neon lights

  • Molotow or Mojo Club for fresh beats and newcomer bands.

  • Schmidts Tivoli delivers neighborhood cabaret with heart and soul.

  • Stroll over to Große Freiheit 36 – legendary since the Beatles days.

  • And if the level is right: Elbschloss-Keller (open 24/7) for the last nightcap and the craziest neighborhood stories.

Of course, this is just the tip of the mast.

Hamburg’s Reeperbahn mixes raw charm with vibrant modernity – so head out, listen to your sailor’s heart and have an unforgettable day.

Have fun, guys – and always have a handful of Astra in your glass!
